In the late autumn of 2018, Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger put their home in Sherman Oaks up for sale for $8 million. It’s been a long haul for the property, which has sustained a series of price chops in the months since it first hit the open market.

The couple split soon after buying the mansion. They paid $5.4 million for the property in June of 2015 and amenably divorced in September of that year. The 10,200 square-footer has, since that time, presumably been more or less a nagging presence, so the ex-couple is presumably at least happy to have the home in their collective past, even if it sold for only $5 million.

The six-bedroom, nine-bath house boasts a grand foyer with a double staircase, a great room with a double-height ceiling, and a tricked-out kitchen with appliances from SubZero and Viking, and a dining room with a wet bar. The master features a large walk-in closet and spa-like bathroom.

Amenities include a home theater, which is sequestered away above the garage. An entertainment room in the upper floor sports the second wet bar in the home, as well as skylights. Features of the outdoor living area include a salt-water pool and spa, a sports court, and a fire pit.
