NBA Star Chris Paul Chops Price of Houston Mansion Down to $7.5M

In August of last year, NBA star Chris Paul put his Houston residence up for sale on the open market with an asking price of $8.3 million. The property hasn’t found a buyer yet, so this month Paul clipped the ask by the customary 10% to stimulate serious interest: the contemporary estate is now asking $7.5 million.

The main house is a big contemporary modern—it measures 10,000 square feet, and its heavy massing is exaggerated by the limestone blocks that are used for its exterior walls. The interiors are rustic, urbane, and moodily contemporary.

Hardwood plank floors, reclaimed timber, marble, and steel-framed windows and French doors also figure heavily in the interiors. A media room with built-ins, a wet bar, and wine storage are among the home’s amenities.

The exterior of the house is similarly modern—but for the pool/guest house, where the property suddenly swings into an unexpected direction. The frontier design may hint at the landscape’s historical importance; what it does for the property is add a unique surprise, and a playful element of complexity.
