Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee Offering Longtime Calabasas Mansion at a Loss

Mötley Crüe founding member Tommy Lee gave the asking price of his Calabasas home a trim this week. He first offered the house in May of 2016, when it hit the open market at $5.995 million.

At that price, a sale would’ve been rather near the knuckle; Lee paid $5.85 million for the place at the tail end of the 2000s. A snip here, a clip there, and four years later finds the house priced at $4.59 million.

The 1980’s stucco five-bedroom house is a desert contemporary, more or less, with 9,991 square feet of interior living space across three floors. The design style is Asian-inspired, but broad in its stylistic aspirations. Sometimes glam rock to the bone, it’s at its best when it emphasizes light, space, timber and interior landscaping; the three-story atrium with water feature and koi pond is the centerpiece of the house. A music studio commands attention on the lower level.

A piano-shaped pool dominates the outdoor living space, with terraces and patios backing things up.
