The GS series will soon be consigned to the back pages of Lexus, but the luxury automaker is sending the model off with full honors: a limited production version called the GS 350 F Sport Black Line Special Edition.
The deletion says much about the present state of automotive fashion; sedan sales continue to diminish, while crossovers now own a big chunk of the sales pie: 25% of cars sold in the U.S.
The GS 350 F Sport Black Line Special Edition has F-series DNA. Lexus launched the elite F-series in 2008, to compete more effectively with mid-upper tier European luxury performance models. But the battle was all uphill, and in the end limited-ed variants were perhaps the only ones to sell—the GS F 10th Anniversary edition, a good example, was revealed in 2018.
The car’s moniker is a mouthful of syllables, but it looks dashing enough, and it’s loaded with Lexus’ potent 3.5L V6. Accents in gloss black, with carbon fiber plentifully present, and a cabin boasting a red-on-black scheme with leather and Alcantara upholstery and wheel.
And, for those looking to make it a special touring edition, a set of matching, custom-made Zero Halliburton luggage can be optioned with the model.
