To close out April, New Kids on the Block member Joey McIntyre has taken ownership of a charming residential property in Southern California, and listed one in Manhattan for sale on the open market for $4.395 million. The coast-swapping transactions were first reported by Variety.
The outgoing property in McIntyre’s portfolio is a condo unit in a pre-war building on the Upper West Side. The building is situated about half a block from the Hudson.
The unit features oak plank throughout, which has with time acquired a pleasing patina. The design sensibility builds on the building’s history, and much of the color and style in evidence appears to defer to those floors, and the accumulated complexity they represent. Tonally, the unit veers into expressive territory, with strongly defined cool tones throughout, most notably a creamy azure that pops up in both kitchen cabinetry and library built-ins.
The unit is a flat, with three bedrooms in its 2,651 square feet; a den may be optioned as a fourth bedroom. In its current layout with a den, however, the master receives its own wing in the condo.
