Financier Marc Bell relisted his heavily customized Boca Raton estate this spring with a somewhat modified ask. The property had been listed on the open market at $35 million when it first appeared in May of 2014; a series of price trims over the course of the intervening years has left it at its present ask of $19.9 million.

The estate is a bit of a concept property, as Bell’s love of Star Trek mythos has left its imprint on his home. From outside, it’s merely a lushly landscaped spot with a park-like appeal that is anchored by a 20,000 square foot Italianate mansion. The back of the property is dominated by an extravagant beach-entry lagoon-style pool with a towering stone waterfall feature.

The entertainment spaces are where the Trekkies will be happiest. The home theater and games room with wet bar are an homage to the Enterprise, and there is more than a little Star Wars influence and memorabilia here and there as well. Elsewhere, though, the home takes a more general inspiration from pop culture, and overall offers a colorful and very playful living style that is occasionally quite affecting; the main wet bar, for example, is an intricately composed nook that recalls a glossy prewar lounge.

There are nine bedrooms and ten baths on the estate, along with additional amenities than include a 1,500-bottle wine room, and outdoor living spaces that include covered and uncovered patios, screened recreation space, summer kitchen, grills, and atrium.
