Matt Stone—one of the creators of the hit satirical TV show ‘South Park’—has put his longtime home in Venice, California, up for sale. The creative fellow has priced his outgoing pad at $3.5 million.
Like its soon-to-be-former owner, the house has quite a bit to say. A contemporary modern outside, it features poured concrete, black trim, and safety lantern sconces. Multi-pane panels on rails emerge as the exterior motif, a uniquely rustic flourish.
Inside, the 2,900-square-foot, three-bedroom house develops as an artistic amalgamation. Its details accumulate fast into a complex, whimsical and stimulating whole; the staircase comes off as the homes’ centerpiece, with a grid balustrade and a variety of hand-painted tiles used to decorate the risers.
Outside, the home’s romantic landscaping makes the living spaces secretive and idyllic. A fire feature and a spa are among the outdoor amenities.
Stone’s career has included numerous accolades, including Emmy and Peabody awards.
