Watchmaker Richard Mille’s newest timepiece is, in terms of style, a striking departure from the last Mille watch we covered. But that’s in keeping with the firm, which consistently approaches design from a conceptual standpoint.
The RM 52-05 Tourbillon Pharrell Williams contained a piece of otherworldly material, and a design that conjured the cosmos. The company’s newest piece, the RM HJ-01, is bedecked with jewels, and a rigid, somewhat mathematical design that suggests art deco patterns.
The watch pictured below is one of the four that comprise the series. Materials include white gold and red gold, with emeralds, sapphires, and rubies employed liberally. Each of the RM HJ watches—so-called ‘jewelry watches’—boasts a black ceramic case. Leather straps with jewel-encrusted clasps complete the watches.
