Less than a year ago, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos bought heavily into a prestigious Manhattan high rise; all told, the billionaire shucked $80 million for a mansion and auxiliary residences in the NoMad building, which include a triplex penthouse, as well as a pair of condos beneath it which were presumably purchased as guest and/or staff accommodations.
The compound in the sky was apparently not considered a completed project by Bezos, however, as he purchased yet another unit in the converted pre-WWI building this month. The New York Post reported the sale, and the sale price: a little more than $16.1 million.
The 3,078 square-foot condo unit contains 3 bedrooms and 4 baths. Details include hardwood floors in a herringbone pattern, understated neutrals and off-whites, and a kitchen with floor-to-ceiling cabinetry and a waterfall island capped with a substantial slab of marble.
Bezos’ other residential real estate purchases in the past few years include a former textile museum in D.C.’s Kalorama neighborhood, and the house across the street from it.
