Last month, MLB player Trea Turner picked up a home in South Florida to carry him through spring training. The Washington Nationals shortstop paid $3.25 million for the home, which is located in Palm Beach Gardens, and makes the work commute a quick one.
The home is sequestered in a particularly verdant corner of the appealing suburban community, and sits on a tree-dotted lot of well over an acre. More or less a modern ranch, its living areas ramble along a single floor, and include five bedrooms and six baths.
The design of the home allows for high ceilings throughout. Marble and hardwood floors, off-white walls and ceilings, and plentiful glass are also key to its composition. The open-concept common areas are divided by an accent wall containing a two-sided gas fireplace.
The exterior living area is unusually spacious. It is anchored by a 1,000 square foot covered loggia with a fireplace; sliding glass opens this outdoor living room to the indoors. A summer kitchen, a pool and sunlounge, and a large lawn are also part and parcel of the 1.3-acre property.
Florida native Turner began his career in 2014, with the Padres. He has been with Washington since 2015.
