With his turn as Aladdin in last year’s film of the same name cementing his career, actor Mena Massoud bought into the L.A.-area industry lifestyle this spring. The young performer opted for a contemporary home that mixes farmhouse, traditional, and industrial elements, and dropped $2.22 million for the keys.

The four-and-four sports a façade in clapboard and timber, as well as a double-door entry. Once inside, the house blossoms as an open-concept living style; support posts and a freestanding staircase with a glass balustrade punctuate the common area. Wine storage is squirreled away discreetly beneath the stairs, but remains strictly visible as a décor addition, and floors in natural-toned wide-plank matte finish confirm the expectations dictated by current interior fashion trends.

A step-down living room expands the footprint, and adds a gas fireplace with a marble surround in an accent wall inset with herringbone-pattern plank. A sliding glass door opens to the property exterior.

Three of the bedrooms are upstairs, including the master, which features a private balcony overlooking the pool. A pair of patio decks, a spa, and ample space for dining and relaxing comprises the ground level exterior, with fold-away glass converting the first floor into an indoor/outdoor space.

Massoud lent his voice to the upcoming feature Lamya’s Poem. The animated film is due in theaters later this year.

The 2019 release of Aladdin saw a box office haul in excess of $1 billion.
