Dustin Pedroia—second baseman for the Red Sox, for those who do not follow the American pastime—put up a residence in Boston this month. He’s asking $8.95 million for the residence, which is located in Chestnut Hill, one of the more desirable suburbs of the city.

The brick Colonial sits on a tree-dotted lot in a particularly green corner of the attractive neighborhood. Its façade is distinguished by eyebrow flourishes over the entrance and second floor window, and a hipped roofline.

The 8,500 square-foot home dates to 2006. The interiors feature a blend of contemporary and traditional design elements, with plank hardwood floors in a satin finish, arches, French doors, and warm off-white walls. A coffered ceiling in the kitchen is the only ornamental ceiling in the house, although the master bedroom—one of seven in the house—does receive an atmospheric backlit effect to accompany the gas fireplace.

The lot extends to nearly an acre, with plenty of room for a pool and sunlounge, and a large lawn.
