Kristen Davis, of Sex and the City fame, sold her Los Angeles-area home this month. The actress accepted an offer of $2.45 million for the property, definitively moving on from a house she’s resided in for about twenty years.
Davis purchased the 4,000-square-foot home for less than $700K when the show that made her a star was only just becoming a phenomenon. Sex and the City would run for six seasons, and spawn a trio of films.
From the street, the house looks very much the part of a 1960s modern ranch, with clapboard siding and a low-slung roof. It’s set into a hillside, with the back offering good views of the city.
Within, it is quite warm, with plank oak, exposed beams, a free-standing iron wood-burning stove, and wood trim; walls and ceilings are bright white. The staircase balustrade adds a little modern industrial spirit to the design style.
The shared living area gets most of the attention, with the aforementioned city views allowed to contextualize the living style, and sets of glass doors opening to a balcony that brings them even closer. The home’s four bedrooms culminate in a master with a shoji screen dividing it from a space currently in use as a fitness room.
The property exterior includes a small lawn on one side of the home. It is sheltered by a thick bank of mature trees.
Davis’ recent roles include a lead in Deadly Illusions; the feature should be in theaters later this year.
