Singer and songwriter Kesha may hail from the heartland, but she decided to make a new purchase on the West Coast before this winter could get started. Back in the fall—about the time she was wrapping up production on her newest album ‘High Road’, as it turns out—the performer quietly dropped five million dollars on a recent contemporary build in Los Angeles. The City of Angels happens to be her place of birth, so Kesha is, in more than one respect, home.

The home contains five bedrooms and six baths in its 5,942 square feet. Three of the bedrooms are on the upper level, including the master, which boasts a uniquely long layout, a private terrace deck capped with a pergola, and a bath with a platform that puts the soaking tub and the double shower in a separate alcove space; the walk-in closet is huge for the home.

The exterior of the house is poured concrete with timber to warm things up and alleviate the weighty brutalist-inflected styling; the interiors boast a generally warm feel, with wide-plank hardwood floors and an open-concept kitchen, dining and family room with a gas fireplace, floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, and sliding and pocketing glass opening onto the outdoor living area. A second deck is nestled on the roof, and offers panoramic city views—as well as prime seats for the outside projection theater.
