NFL player Darren Sproles, now retired, is very interested in a change of scene, and in a hurry to decamp for new horizons. This week, Sproles put his home in Poway, California, sold for $2.7 million, about a hundred thousand dollars under his 2014 purchase price.
The 9,000 square-footer contains six bedrooms and eight baths. It’s essentially a large Spanish-style ranch, which sits on a four-acre lot; the home’s exterior living area includes a large beach-entry pool with lagoon styling.
Inside the house, updates have rendered the living style as contemporary, with rustic elements. The wide-plank hardwood floors have been matte finished, and ceilings occasionally sport raw timber.
The home’s amenities list is extensive. A home theater with tiered seating, a corner master bedroom with two sets of oversized French doors opening onto the outdoor living space, and a games room with a wet bar are standout spaces.
Outside, lawns, gardens and a playground help fill out the grounds, which offer sweeping hilltop views.
Sproles played professionally for 15 years. He played with the Eagles, Saints and Chargers before retiring this year.
