Action film actor Jason Statham listed this midcentury modern home in Los Angeles this week with an asking price of $6.995 million. Statham purchased the property in the spring of 2015, for $2.7 million. He invested fairly heavily in a renovation of the home.
The house is nestled into a hillside in the Bird Streets neighborhood. It was built in 1957, and features, as a theme, a series of L-shaped overhangs which are lined with natural-finished cedar planks. They emphasize the property’s considerable interior-exterior flow.
The 2,456 square feet of interiors are distinguished by an unusual layout, one that is both open-concept and playful, and echoes the individualistic roofline. The galley kitchen’s updates include a Scandinavian-influenced series of cabinetry; the room terminates with a pivoting door.
The home’s four bedrooms and four baths culminate in a master suite that boasts a very contemporary bath that is starkly minimalist, and features a Japanese-inflected soaking tub as a centerpiece. The master bedroom features sliding glass that opens to a private section of the patio that sports a fire feature. A small-ish walk-in closet is also part of the suite layout.
The home’s exterior living spaces aren’t expansive, but they are quite private. A small pool with a sunlounge, and a barrel sauna and immersion tub define the property as health-conscious.
Statham starred in last year’s Fast & Furious: Hobbs and Shaw. He stars in the upcoming Guy Ritchie action film Wrath of Man, due in theaters next year.
