In the spring of 2018, actress Gabrielle Union and professional athlete Dwyane Wade bought a home in Sherman Oaks; the couple dropped $6 million on a newly constructed contemporary Mediterranean villa with 8,650 square feet of interior living space.
Two years later, the duo’s home is back on the market. They’re not looking for a huge profit; they only appear to want out from under, given their new Hidden Hills purchase of earlier this year that drained nearly $18 million from their collective wallet.
There are a number of high-end amenities in the house. Topping the list is a spa room, a wet bar, a screening room, and climate controlled wine storage with a tasting room. The home also works in a maid’s quarters and an elevator.
The five-bedroom house also packs a lot of evocative architectural cues in its exterior, with a lengthy series of arched windows, interior/exterior living spaces, and a loggia porch. Inside, the home is designed in the grand fashion; its centerpiece is a spiral staircase, which gives the living spaces a common metaphor of transition. Its bright and sometimes glossy open feel is tempered somewhat by dark plank hardwood that’s been given a rustic treatment.
On the other coast, the couple’s superb waterfront mansion in Miami Beach is listed for $29 million.
Union’s recent feature film credits include a starring role in Breaking In; she also co-producing the movie. Wade is a 12-time NBA All-Star. He retired from professional play this year.
