Golf legend Gary Player put the estate in South Carolina up for sale this month. According to public records, Mr. Player purchased the land in 2007, for $500K, and had the home custom built, completing it in 2011.

The property first appeared on the open market in 2015 with an ask of $6.6 million, but after about a year the home vanished. Now it’s back again, with a price reduction of over two million dollars.

The house is situated on almost 2.6 acres; the lot is incorporated into The Cliffs at Mountain Park, on the seventh green of a course designed by Player. The home’s exterior features plentiful glass, stone, a copper roof, and hardwood.

The home’s interior living spaces measure 6,800 square feet, with five bedrooms and seven baths across two floors. The shared spaces are very warm, with slate floors. The living room is designed around a freestanding stone double-sided fireplace and floor-to-ceiling accent wall; a second, larger double-sided fireplace stands between a family room/lounge and dining room.

The exterior is extremely inviting, and centered around a tree-framed patio and zero-edge pool that looks out over the golf course.

Player won eighteen major golf championships—and a Grand Slam—during his lengthy career.
