Actor and comedian Tom Arnold listed his 7,728 square foot residence in Beverly Hills this month. Mr. Arnold is asking $9.5 million for the property; he’s owned it since 2006, according to public records.
The 1990-built house is located in the Post Office neighborhood. It’s warmly inviting, displaying Spanish and traditional exterior architecture and its seven-bedroom layout makes it more of a family home than an entertainer’s dream.
The gated entrance foreshadows the feel of the interiors. The semi-turret foyer is both cozy and inviting, and boasts a curving staircase as a graceful preamble. As the home unfolds, each room presents itself as a highly individual space, with hardwood or tile flooring, ceilings with coffered, tray or dome accents, fireplaces, and a muted palette of beige and brown.
The master suite deserves special mention. It’s carried off exceedingly well, spacious and warm, and without the high-dollar material veneer that spells pretension. A sitting area with fireplace, a concept ceiling, wide-plank floors, a large walk-in closet and dressing room, and two sets of French doors opening onto an upper terrace are a few of the features of this sanctuary.
The three-quarter acre lot boasts impenetrable privacy landscaping, a pool, and a covered living and dining area.
Arnold’s upcoming feature film roles include top billing in High Holidays; the film also stars Jennifer Tilly, and is presumably due in theaters this November.
