The Porsche Taycan is a strong contender for prettiest new SUEV of the last couple of years. The model is doing well, with at least 10K units sold by December of last year.
A recent press release from the automaker may galvanize the consumer looking for a six-figure performance EV even more by uttering that word which so entrances the big-ticket car buyer: personalization. It details the Porsche Manufaktur customization options for the Taycan for this year, and the litany of cosmetic touches and performance enhancements is an extensive one.
Personalization—or, in pretentious speak, ‘bespoke’—options, of course, typically involve visuals, a stamp of individuality that tells people the car is yours, mine, his or hers, and no-body else’s. And so the Manufaktur division begins with gloss black or flashy, carbon-grey finishes on three Sport Design options, each featuring different inlays in diffuser fin, sill panels, and apron.
Available upsell components include an option for lightweight, 21” Exclusive Design carbon aeroblade wheels, and Porsche’s Dynamic Light System Plus, which adds graphics and colors to operating and LED Matrix headlamps.
Cabin customization options include a Carbon Interior Package, which brings abundant carbon fiber into play as a flashy flourish, and a spectrum of accent color options for trim.
The Taycan is the latest upper-tier Porsche to receive the Manufaktur customization options. The Macan S and the Panamera Turbo may also be personalized by Porsche’s special division.
