Florida Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky bought heavily in Fort Lauderdale this season, dropping $4.5 million on a 2018-built custom waterfront home that had been on the market since September of this year. The buy was a natural; a few months ago, Bobrovsky signed a seven-year, $70 million contract with the team.
The house aspires to the palatial; the great room is a deusey, augmenting the impressive scale of the double-height design with a floor-to-ceiling fireplace accent wall and an extravagant, fairly majestic curving staircase. Marble floors add to the flamboyance until one reaches the kitchen and family room, where hardwood plank warms things up a bit.
There are five bedrooms and six baths in the 6,700 square feet of interior living area. The space is designed to be more family-friendly, with stainless appliances, a broad, stone-capped island, and a breakfast spot giving way to a lounge-friendly living area with oversize windows. Upstairs, a generously proportioned master suite offers views of the Waterway.
Amenities include a wine room, an entertainment room, and an elevator. Outside, a saltwater pool is nestled within landscaping that incorporates features of both fire and water. The estate extends to about a quarter of an acre, with a fair-sized step-down terrace on the waterfront side of the property.
