Marg Helgenberger—of ‘CSI’ fame—has a new home in Brentwood to replace the Brentwood home she sold earlier in the year. Variety reported that the actress’s off-market sale at $8 million transitioned into a $4.5 million midcentury house near Mandeville Canyon.
The timber-clad modern where Helgenberger will now hang her hat is nestled into a hillside spot, and the steep gradient and frame of mature trees gives it a veritable nest-like appeal. The location and glassy build allows for fine city views from both floors.
A slatted entry opens to a little courtyard of sorts, with living and creative spaces accessible from a timber deck, and a tree incorporated into the build making the first impression of a naturalistic home inspired by the philosophy of Japanese residential architecture.
The home is modestly sized, but the wide-open layout of the shared living spaces—and the glass walls opening onto greater Los Angeles—belie the limitations of 2,150 square feet. Details include floors with inlaid bronze, teak cabinetry in the kitchen, and a spectacular master suite with sliding glass that opens to a private balcony, and a lovely master bath layout that places an outdoor spa and an indoor soaking tub in close proximity, with a glass slider between them.
