Former Turner Broadcasting CEO John Martin landed a new gig at Comscore earlier this year, and a new house in Brentwood, California, before the high holidays.
The job at Comscore brings the executive a challenging position on the company’s board of directors. The home should provide a bit of much needed downtime from the stresses of negotiating Comscore into a more relevant position in its chosen niche of media analytics and assessment. It ran Mr. Martin 14 mil on the nose, and is situated in the quiet rolling hinterland of Crestwood Hills.
The heavily renovated 1950s traditional is now quite contemporary, and it contains 8 bedrooms and 14 baths in its 14,000 square feet. The interiors are understated, but there’s a fair amount of warmth hiding beneath the sophisticated veneer. Details include matte-finished wide-plank hardwood floors, a glass-enclosed staircase, a rooflight, and a judicious smattering of brushed brass fixtures.
The home’s list of amenities should impress the most blasé $10+ million home tire-kicker; it includes an auto gallery, a home theater, a wine cellar, a conservatory, a library/creative workspace, a spa with indoor lap pool, an entertainment room with wet bar, and maid’s quarters. The half-acre lot squeezes in a pool and spa and a kitchen and dining area amid plantings that include old-growth redwoods.
Martin left Turner last year. He is married to Mia Goldwyn, who was Chief Content Officer at now-defunct StyleHaul before launching her own consulting company in 2017.
