Porsche’s Macan lineup refresh for the 2020 model year was rounded out this week when the automaker revealed the updated GTS. This is the second iteration of the top-range GTS trim level on the Macan; the first was produced for the 2017 model year.
The litany of improvements includes changes to both powertrain and tech. Porsche tweaked their 2.9L biturbo V6 to produce an additional 44 horsepower, bringing the rating to 375; torque comes in at 383 lb-ft. Porsche’s PDK paddle-shift automatic delivers the goods, helping the GLS Macan to hit 60 in 4.7 seconds without the Sport Chrono option, and 4.5 seconds with it.
A sport wheel and GTS seats set a comfy, sporty feel inside the cabin, which is enhanced by a judicious dosage of Alcantara and a few stylish line embellishments in brushed aluminum. The GTS cabin package doesn’t come standard—the option includes accent stitching and Bose audio, among other features. But the Macan GTS does provide a lot of sportiness for a fairly low entry fee; the 2020 model-year base sticker is $73K.
Porsche’s 2020 Macan GTS will be in U.S. dealerships next summer.
