Seth McFarlane, the fellow who created the hit animated series ‘Family Guy’, picked up an early Xmas gift for himself this fall: a heavily renovated mid-1980s modern of 6,900 square feet.

McFarlane paid $15.68 million for the waterfront Malibu property. The spot is a very private one, and the boxy home is beautifully framed in green. The interiors look out on a coastline niche and the beach that is accessible via staircase.

The interiors feature wide-plank, matte-finished hardwood. The shared living spaces are open concept, with accent walls and a step-down living room offering room definition; optional glass walls open generously to the spectacular location.

The top floor of the home occupies much of the upper floor, and features a sauna, an in-wall gas fireplace, and views of the beach. There are five bedrooms and 6 baths in the home all told, as well as a long list of amenities include a humidor, wine storage, and a bottom-floor games room with a wet bar.
