A Frank Lloyd Wright home outside Chicago surfaced on the open market this week with an asking price of $724K. The house is one of Wright’s many Prairie-style homes in the greater Chicago area, and it’s been no stranger to the open market in recent months; in January of last year, it sold for $752K, before returning to the market in April priced at $838K.

The home is called the Kier House, after the doctor who was its first owner, and is one among a cluster of Frank Lloyd Wright-designed houses in this corner of Glencoe. The 1914-built house has been modified considerably over the years.

The 4-bed home is sized accordingly for a spec-built Wright design for the masses: the interiors measure a little over 2,200 square feet. The wide-open shared living area features oak floors, a masonry fireplace, and a bank of large windows; it transitions to a step-down family room tiled in blue stone. The decorative wood accents are probably very familiar to lovers of Wright’s style.

The property exterior is nicely landscaped, with a small deck falling away into a modest but sylvan meditation garden in the back of the home.

Purchasing is not the only option; renting is also possible. The monthly rate is $3,200.
