PGA Hall of Fame inductee Fred Couples recently listed this contemporary Mediterranean in Newport Beach for sale for $3.749 million. He’s owned the getaway home for about four years; according to public records, he paid $3.475 million for it in March of 2015.
The single-story house was built in 1998, and is located in the Big Canyon neighborhood. The living style is relaxed and airy, with a white treatment, plenty of glass, and a mix of pale hardwood and stone tile floors gracing the open concept living area. A French-style fireplace adds a bit of complexity and formality to the room.
Much of the property appeal is in the indoor/outdoor living style, however; throughout the common areas, glass doors open frequently onto the patio, which is enhanced by tropical plantings and protected by privacy hedges, mature trees, and a demarcation wall. The master suite boasts its own private corner of the outdoor living area, as well as a fireplace, a sitting area, and a vaulted ceiling.
Former World No. 1 Couples was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013. He has been a professional golfer for 39 years.
