German tuner Brabus’ G-Class revisions of the past few years have presented owners of the classic Mercedes off-road vehicle with an embarrassment of choices. The company’s various ‘Widestar’ and ‘One of Ten’ editions each cast the utilitarian-luxe SUV in a different light, with a long list of carefully considered interior embellishments and performance upgrades available with every package.
Late 2019 brings Brabus’ new ‘Adventure’ packages to the G-Class, and the emphasis this time is bringing extra off-road muscle and weekend camping potential to the vehicle. A wind guard/light assembly that gives way to a conspicuously capable-looking roof rack, and a Widestar winch and brush guard that provide bushwhacking necessities are easily spotted upgrades.
Brabus boosted the power with their ECO PowerXtra D35 upgrade, and improved airflow with a stainless sport exhaust system, all of which brings the 3L six-cylinder turbo to 330 horsepower—a 44 HP increase—and the torque to 487 lb-ft. A specially designed Brabus Adventure electronically-controlled suspension brings the clearance up an additional 1.6 inches, and 20” monoblock wheels with special off-road tires give maximum grip and confidence when roughing it.
The interiors are typically Brabus: a lush combination of Alcantara and fine leather, with multiple color schemes available. Custom aluminum trim and components include paddles, pedals and door lock pins.
