Aston Martin has dived headfirst into motorcycle design and come up with a sculpted, limited-edition two-wheeler called the AMB 001. Aston unveiled the racing bike at this year’s EICMA motorcycle show in Milan.

Aston didn’t bring the bike to fruition alone, though. The AMB 001 is the product of Aston design sensibilities and the substantial motorcycle building experience of venerable British company Brough Superior, a 100-year-old concern that produced some of the most beautiful, powerful and collectible bikes in history. T.E. Lawrence, aka Lawrence of Arabia, owned seven of the roughly 3000 Brough Superior bikes built during the company’s heyday; the last, an SS100, conveyed him to the next world. Brough Superior was revived a decade ago, and resumed production in 2016 at a factory in France, where the Aston AMB 001 will be manufactured.

The AMB 001’s aero is thoroughgoingly Aston Martin, and reflects the design language of current models. The body is made of titanium, aluminum and cabon fiber. A series of wings provide downforce; a double wishbone fork is a performance-based choice for the front end. For cosmetics, the AMB 001 boasts Aston’s Stirling Green accented with carbon fiber components, including the wheels and brakes.

The AMB 001 is limited to 100 examples. Pricing starts around $120K.
