Following its listing in the second half of August of this year, Jack Dorsey’s contemporary home in Los Angeles sold this month for $4.625 million. Dorsey had owned the property for a year. He purchased it in 2018 for $4.225 million, and marketed it at $4.5 million.
The concrete-and-glass residence is a new build that dates to 2017. The reason for the bidding war is likely a combination of the home’s effective architecture and interior/exterior living style, which is extravagantly expressed even for a contemporary Los Angeles-area home designed for the successful professional.
From the street, the home features poured concrete, a varied roofline, slash clerestory accent windows, and a series of picture lights. The back of the property blossoms as expected, with a pool, offering an extravagant living style that belies the tight confines of the lot and the home’s roughly 3,500 square feet of interiors.
Open-concept and free-flowing describes the interior living style. Material accents include an effective mix of wood tones, extensive use of marble, masonry, and polished concrete. A floating staircase connects the floors, employing a guywire balustrade with a wooden handrail that extends to the upper floor.
The five-and-five’s master suite is highlighted by a bedroom with a massive Fleetwood that opens to a balcony with a glass balustrade, but that’s the rule of thumb for the home, which at every possible opportunity connects interior and exterior living spaces. The terrace off the main floor is the largest of these spaces, and features a large lounge and dining area that surveys the pool area and, more distantly, favorable L.A. views.
Dorsey, CEO of Twitter and co-founder of its origin company, has an estimated net worth of $4.2 billion.
