Electric motorcycle designer and manufacturer Zero is back this fall with a new ride that’s ideal for following the sun as the winter solstice looms. They’re calling it the DSR Black Forest.
Zero presumably took its company name from the degree of emissions directly produced by one of its motorcycles. The company has grown quickly, opening up a European office and expanding its lineup to eight models since its founding in the last decade. The reason for the success is simple: their bikes look fantastic, and are beautifully designed.
The DSR Black Forest picks up where the DSR leaves off, bringing touring potential to the sport bike. A touring seat, touring windshield, and plentiful cargo space top the list of new features.
The Zero website indicates that the bike also comes with the company’s Charge Tank, which allows for recharging at ‘Level 2’ quick-charge stations, getting riders back on the road six times faster than standard charging.
The Black Forest’s city range is 157 miles; highway use brings the number down to 88. Peak torque is 116 lb-ft, and the bike can hit 102 MPH, plenty fast for a sport model.
Prices for the Zero DSR Black Forest begin at $18,995.
