This week, Joe Biden’s brother James listed this Pennsylvania home.

Mr. Biden is asking $2 million for the villa, an attractive 1940 build that mixes and matches Italian and French styles. It boasts seven bedrooms and 5.5 baths in its 6,376 square feet of interior living space.

The home’s many fine details include carved fireplace mantels, moldings, and inlaid hardwood and marble floors. Room décor is nicely varied; a space currently purposed as an office features terra-cotta tile, dark blue walls, a marble fireplace; a trio of French doors with fanlights balance things nicely, with plenty of natural light to act as ballast. The dining room features an intense red-and-gold combination.

The grounds are genuinely idyllic. Landscaped like a romantic-era garden, the widely varied shrubs, ground cover, vines and trees are ebullient and nearly overgrown, giving the estate a parklike feel that encourages exploration, intimacy, and time alone.
