Stanley Cup Champion Brad Stuart Asking $4.7M for California Manse in Trump Golf Community

Two years ago, former NHL player Brad Stuart moved his family to Palos Verdes, buying this custom-built house on a slice of the Trump National Golf Course to cement his retirement. The 40-year-old ex-defenceman didn’t stay too long, though. Late this summer, he packed up his clubs and listed the property on the open market with an asking price of $4.995 million.

The home’s exterior features Tuscan-inspired architecture. Arches, a loggia, a tiled roof, and multiple balconies with Mediterranean balustrades accumulate into a fairly convincing performance of a provincial Italian lifestyle.

The 6,150 square footer’s interiors begin with a common area that is very open; this combination kitchen, living room and family room is eminently liveable, with a large island, a fireplace, and sliding glass opening onto the patio. Muted tones, limestone or walnut floors, and dark wood cabinetry highlight the casual/formal living style, with the separate dining room an annex for social engagements.

There are five bedrooms and 5.5 baths in the house. Four of the bedrooms are en-suite, including the master, which takes best advantage of the panoramic views of the ocean and Catalina Island by opening onto a large balcony; below is the sunlounge, pool, and patio.

Stuart spent much of his career with the San Jose Sharks, making stops in Detroit and Boston, among other ports of call, between his two stints with the team. He retired in 2016.
