Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi sold a townhouse in Westlake Village last month. The couple accepted an offer of $980K for the property; they purchased it in 2015 for $670K, and first listed it in July of this year for $1.125 million. Prior to the sale, DeGeneres and de Rossi had reduced the price to a shadow under a million.

The unit’s essential consolation is its first-floor deck overlooking the water. This space boasts enough room for dining and lounging, and is a naturally gathering place for social events. The views are excellent; the panorama includes lake and mountains.

The home’s interiors are designed around the location as well, of course, with oversize windows and sliding glass doors citing the vista as frequently as possible; the dining area is nestled amid glass, and the master suite features a prominent window as well as a separate sitting room overlooking the lake.

Shared living spaces are quasi-open-concept and fairly neutral, with beige tile and carpets. The living room gets a substantial natural stone fireplace with a slightly raised hearth step, and looks very cozy for cooler nights.

DeGeneres and de Rossi’s other recent sales include that of an early 1960’s John Elgin Woolf Hollywood regency-style; the couple listed it earlier this year and sold it at the end of August for $15.5 million against their 2018 purchase price of $15 million.
