BMW’s M series cars have been a uniquely individual road presence for the company since the 1970s, a performance lineup rooted in BMW racing performance.

The M division is closing in on half a century of existence, and the next few years will, one assumes, see a flurry of special M cars to spur new buyers to the fold. So BMW’s M4 Edition M Heritage, which is scheduled for deliveries beginning in November, may or may not be a bit of marketing foreshadowing on the cusp of a new decade.

The cosmetics-driven limited-ed M model variant rollout for late summer—which joins the i3 RoadStyle and i8 Ultimate Sophisto, which we’re also covering—includes a trio of brightly-colored M4s. The Imola Red M4, the Laguna Seca Blue M4, and the Velvet Blue Metallic M4 each look just fine on their own, but their individual exterior colors mesh so well that the collection, as a whole, spurs the fantasy of owning all three.

The interiors contrast with exterior colors, and there is edition-specific badging and embroidery to enhance the 750-example run of the variant. No mechanical changes or tuning, but the M4’s production 3L I6, and its 444 HP and 405 pound-feet of torque, should suffice.
