New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and his partner, food writer and TV chef Sandra Lee, have reduced the price of their picture-perfect retreat in Mount Kisco. The estate known as Lily Pond was priced at $2 million when it first hit the market in May of this year; it is now asking $1.7 million.
According to public records, the Cuomos have owned the home for a little over a decade, having purchased it in 2008 for $1.2 million. Presumably a major update ensued, because the living style is cohesively and intensely homey.
The 4,100 square footer contains four bedrooms and 5.5 baths. Rooms are executed in cottagey softness, with wall coverings, drapes, paint and fixtures all suggesting the comfortable and familiar. Standout spaces include a study with a brick fireplace, a cozy library, and a creative workspace with floor-to-ceiling built-ins.
The property exterior is as charming as the architecture and the interiors, and shown to best effect by the late summer verdancy. A patio with a fireplace, a picturesque gardening shed, rolling lawns, and groomed landscaping define the 2.9-acre lot.
Mr. Cuomo has been Governor of New York since 2011. Lee won a Daytime Emmy in 2012 for her Food Network program, ‘Semi-Homemade Cooking’.
