With a quirky Beverly Hills property in the rearview—and freeing up $3.9 million in equity—after a sale this summer, actress Emma Stone has invested in a new guest residence in the Los Angeles area: this $2.3 million cottage a block west of the L.A. Country Club.
The house is a disarming little Spanish eclectic dating to the 1920’s. Renovations have been numerous over the years, but the home retains the full potency of its period feel. And the home is a perfect guest house…it’d charm the stripes off a tiger.
The exterior of the three-bedroom cottage is warm and inviting, with a terra-cotta tile front walk, beige stucco, and a tile roof. Inside, mid-tone burled hardwood floors alternate with tile, the combination contrasting beautifully with bright white walls, and a cool tone popping up occasionally to soothe and add complexity. Rounded archways and dark ceiling beams in the living room notch up the period charm. The space flows seamlessly via a classic accent wall to the large formal dining room, where a set of French doors opens to the outdoor living space.
An all-white kitchen accented with stainless steel appliances features a cozy breakfast nook that overlooks the backyard, which features excellent privacy landscaping, giving the pool, spa and tiled patio a wonderfully secluded feel.
Stone was the highest-paid actress in the world in 2017. In 2014, she took home an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Birdman.
