“Hunger Games” star Josh Hutcherson is looking to move on from his midcentury house in Laurel Canyon. Hutcherson is asking $3.5 million for the property.
The house has a substantial pedigree of high-profile previous owners. Fellow celebrity Ellen DeGeneres also called the property home; she passed it on to Heath Ledger in 2005.
The 1951-built house spans 1,861 square feet, and holds two bedrooms and two baths. It retains classic midcentury features, a few updates, and a bit of traditional architectural influence as well: pitched wood-beamed ceilings and polished concrete floors are among the details of this very warm and very inviting home.
The living room is open and boasts a fine period feel by way of a whitewashed masonry accent wall and modern fireplace. Large glass sliders open to the backyard, giving the room excellent interior/exterior flow.
The completely remodeled galley kitchen features white cabinetry, gray countertops, and a suite of top-of-the-line stainless-steel appliances. The formal dining room is equally as impressive with its pitched ceiling, midcentury light fixture, and set of French doors.
Tucked in the hills on about half of an acre, the home also has plenty of outdoor living space, including a 2,500-square-foot deck. Thanks to features like an outdoor grill and an open-air screening room, it’s the perfect space to host friends and family.
