Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey listed a flashy, recently built contemporary in Los Angeles this month with an asking price of $4.495 million. According to public records, the billionaire picked up the place for $4.2 million a little more than a year ago.

The home was constructed last year, and bears plentiful stylistic evidence of its recent vintage inside and out. A streetside impression is of a ponderously arranged series of concrete blocks, with abundant glass, a bit of Japanese influence, and a touch of timber for a suggestion of warmth.

The 3,730 square-footer’s interiors feature concrete tile floors, whitewashed masonry accents, and an open-concept shared living space. The industrial-style staircase adds plank treads to the mix, bringing in a bit of warmth that goes unsupported until one enters the kitchen, where towering dark hardwood cabinetry supports a large waterfall-edge island.

There are five bedrooms and four baths in the home. The master is a gem, and receives a sizeable chunk of the square footage. Like the main common area, the large sanctuary bedroom is situated on the upper floor. It features Fleetwood doors for excellent interior/exterior flow, an adequately-sized walk-in closet, and a bathroom sporting the requisite marble and fixtures.

But the great room is the heart of the home. Fleetwood doors open broadly to the upper terrace, and are capped by massive clerestories. The lot is occupied by the pool and sunlounge; an outdoor staircase provides easy access to this recreational area, while privacy landscaping stands sentry between the property line and prying eyes.

Dorsey purchased a $22 million home in San Francisco a few months ago.
