Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight has listed his longtime residence in Beverly Hills for sale. The property is listed at $19.975 million and is reportedly being sold at ‘land value’.
As a result, interior shots of the 1957-built traditional are unavailable. The property is accessed via a gated driveway which descends to a brick motor court, and the home itself, represented by a few exterior shots, looks very simple; a boxy late-1950’s traditional that finds its most compelling context in its setting.
Which is a beaut. The home is situated in a gated community on a private road, and is one of less than 40 residences in that community. It’s set into a hill, and features a deck that takes in views of the landscape, and a staircase that descends to a brick pool and sunlounge area.
The lot extends to well over an acre, which will surely be put to good use by the deep-pocketed buyer interested in having their own sanctuary designed in the exclusive area. It features a fairly large, flat plain of patchy grass that is rimmed by a running track and a line of mature trees. Another, smaller unused expanse, which is suitable for a guest house, is on the property as well.
Voight took home the Best Actor Oscar for his work in 1978’s ‘Coming Home’.
