Political consultant/analyst Karl Rove has elected to list his West Lake Hills, Texas, home for $2.8 million.
Rove—who formerly served as the White House deputy chief—has owned the contemporary residence located in the Austin suburbs for many years. Standing sentry outside the two-bedroom residence? A guard dog of sorts: one of Jeff Koons’ balloon dog sculptures.
Inside, the 3,556-square-foot home wows with sleek mid-tone hardwood floors that pair well with wood-clad vaulted-and-beamed ceilings. A great room-style formal living and dining room impresses with wall-to-wall bookshelves and, opposite, wall-to-wall glass panels and sliders that open to the backyard.
Behind the long wall of bookshelves is the modern kitchen, which is accented with white cabinetry, Silestone counters, stainless steel appliances, and a center island. There’s also a more casual living space with built-in shelving and room for a TV.
Outside, the 2.39-acre property features an outdoor dining space, several patios, a pergola, a lap pool, and a guesthouse.
