The Rolls-Royce Ghost of the past five years may soon be fading into the ethereal mists of automotive history.
The third series of the model is on the way, but before it appears, Rolls is sending out the second with a collectible limited-edition Ghost. The production run is limited to fifty examples.
The Zenith Collector’s Edition of the Ghost follows a similar presentation-grade version of the Phantom which appeared a few years ago. It features a wealth of cosmetic embellishments, of course, but perhaps none is as unique as the ingot installed in the console. The slice of brushed sterling comes from the hood ornament of the Ghost concept car—the 200EX—that appeared in 2009, paving the way for the successful production model.
The exterior of the Zenith Collector’s Edition features a unique two-tone paint job. In blue and silver, the variant will be completed with a white hood; those who elect the red receive a black hood for a more dramatic look.
Inside, the flourishes come thick and fast. The door sill features appropriate badging that clearly identifies, and a special clock decorates the dash. The 200EX provenance is further represented by an engraving of the concept’s blueprint. For atmospherics, there’s ambient LED lighting in the pockets, as well as the heavenly LED effect of Rolls’ signature Starlight headliner.
