High-end TV projectors haven’t been able to displace large 4K flat-screen options for most buyers, but Korean Tech giant LG is hoping to change all that. The company’s upper-tier HU85LA 4K UHD Laser Smart Home Theater CineBeam Projector boasts full 4K resolution.
The new home theater projector was designed to rival some of the best wide-screen HD setups available. LG’s short-throw projector can project a 90-inch image. Not only is the projection large, the projector can produce its 90-inch image when placed just 2.2 inches away from a wall. When placed 7.2 inches away, the picture expands to 120 inches.
LG backs up its claims about clear resolution with some fairly incredible numbers: 8.3 million pixels and 2,700 ANSI lumens, and a contrast ratio that is, the company claims, 2 million to one; not astonishing for a top-tier LED, but superb for a projection model.
The projector is Bluetooth-capable, and equipped with LG’s ThinQ A.I. system and Google Assistant.
LG’s new projector is priced at $5,995.
