When it comes to jaunty contemporary British roadsters, automaker Lotus is the keeper of the flame. Yes, indeed, that’s a stick you see jutting out of the center console of the 2020 Evora GT, and it operates the base model transmission of the model, which is the quickest iteration.
The body language has been updated, and the build uses plenty of carbon fiber, so the Evora GT looks refreshed and is lighter than ever. Options include additional carbon fiber components; for $10,000, drivers can enjoy the Carbon Pack complete with a carbon fiber tailgate, roof panel, front access panel, and a diffuser.
The 3.5-liter V6 engine still comes from Toyota, and that’s a good thing. Tuning brings the numbers up; the automatic comes in at 416 HP and 317 lb-ft of torque. The manual is quicker, though, with an extra 15 lb-ft of torque to call upon, and a zero-to-60 mph time of just 3.8 seconds. It’s the most powerful street-legal Lotus designed for the U.S. market.
The 2020 Lotus Evora GT is available to order now with a starting price of $96,950.
