Midsummer real estate news finds that Matthew Perry has listed his massive penthouse residence in the Century building. The place went up for sale this week for a cool $35 million.
The unit offers nearly 10,000 square feet of interior living space, and occupies one entire floor of the upscale residential high rise. It was built in 2010, with interiors revised by designer L.M. Pagano.
The results are understated and extremely refined, with soft neutrals and a seemingly endless series of glass panels combining to make the most of the illuminating view. Tones are subtle, with gentle cool and warm tones offering only suggestions of mood; the kitchen receives marble countertops revealing a modicum of red, and the warm flourish is picked up in the wall treatments. Elsewhere grays enter the picture, however reticently. Warm plank throughout provides consistent contrast and natural texture.
There are four bedrooms and 5.5 baths in the residence. The heart of the place is the master, which receives a gracefully convex outer wall of glass that takes in some of the finer views available in downtown L.A., and offers a wide-open interpretation of bedroom sanctuary. An amazingly liberating room.
Perry purchased the penthouse in July of 2017, when his offer of $20 million was accepted. The property had been listed at $27 million prior to the sale.
