MLB free agent Hanley Ramirez has sold his Mediterranean-style South Florida home for $2.7 million.

Ramirez—a three-time All-Star and the 2006 National League Rookie of the Year—originally listed the Weston property for $3.9 million. After its initial listing in April 2018, the residence’s asking price was gradually reduced, finally landing at $3.09 million prior to the sale. Unfortunately, the former Red Sox player paid $3.95 million for the 9,000-square-foot home back in 2008.

The house is a beaut, though, and extremely warm inside and out. Arches, stucco, brick, stone, tile and terra-cotta merge with a few strategically-placed palms and groomed landscaping for a classic upscale Florida living style.

Within, the eight-bedroom home begins with a lovely feature: a foyer floored with warm-toned hardwood and multicolored tile. Spaces include a large living room with tall ceilings, a stone fireplace, and four sets of French doors.

Further inside, an open-concept family room flows to the spacious gourmet kitchen. The family room boasts rustic beams and a corner fireplace, while the kitchen stands out with a barrel-vaulted ceiling, two islands, and a set of stainless steel appliances.

The exterior is formal but relaxed, and ideal for entertaining. A large swimming pool and spa, and a limestone sunlounge and patio complete the outdoor living style.
