Actor Aaron Eckhart recently sold his Beverly Hills Post Office residence for $3.125 million.

The “Dark Knight” and “Frasier” star purchased the mid-century Los Angeles-area ranch-style for $1.55 million back in 2002, so it looks like he’s made a fair return on his investment. Even better, after just two months on the market, it sold for $25,000 above ask.

Nestled into the hillside, the 3,016-square-foot house was built in the 1960s. Many of the home’s original features have survived the intervening decades; no small feat for a home in this neck of the woods, where interior fashion comes and goes with the breeze.

The exterior brick makes for a very warm prologue; beyond the carved double-doors, honey-toned plank hardwood sets a quaint, cozy tone that expands as the home progresses. The spacious living room is flanked with a long wall of French doors, and the kitchen features an eat-in island, and a flex space that could be used for casual dining or as a study. A massive roof light is a welcome addition, as it opens up the interiors very well.

Outside, the one-acre property features an expansive patio offering beautiful city and canyon views, with a swimming pool and spa positioned to take full advantage of the scenery.

Eckhart is currently filming thriller ‘Wander’; the film is due in theaters late in the year.
