Actor and writer Steve Martin sold his secondary Beverly Hills Post Office area home for $2.22 million. The property—which is adjacent his long-term residence—was on the market for less than a month.

Martin purchased the 1957-built home as a guest residence for $995,000 back in 1997, and, since then, the place has only increased in value. The Los Angeles-area residence—with its nifty, anything-goes, quasi-pastiche architecture—sold for about $71,000 over ask after just three weeks on the market.

The two-story contemporary home spans 2,000 square feet and holds four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. Inside, the central living space stands out with vaulted and beamed ceilings and an entire wall of glass sliders opening to a long balcony. The living room features an expressive fireplace, the dedicated dining space a frame of windows, and the kitchen boasts unique curvilinear architecture and black countertops.

The exterior living style is warm and casual, with brick and lush landscaping providing a pleasingly romantic feel. Patios and terraces offer plenty of space to stretch out with guests.

Martin is on tour this summer with fellow comedian Martin Short. Money well spent.
