East Coast Defender has a new modified Land Rover Defender to show off this summer.
This certainly won’t be the last bespoke Defender to roll out of ECD’s workshop, the new take on the elder statesman of SUVs has an air of finality about it that belies its name. ECD calls it the Project Neo.
The team at ECD started with a Defender 110 and completely modified the utilitarian road-agnostic into a slick brutal romper. The Vulkan Grey Pearl 4×4 now boasts a tough exoskeleton in addition to steel bumpers, full-length side steps, rear window guards, underbody protection, and a winch. These new enhancements significantly amp up the durability of the vehicle, making it perfect for venturing off-road, even as it impresses the suburban neighbors.
Other additions and alterations to this Defender include fender flares, 20-inch Kahn Mondial Retro wheels, and 32-inch BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires. The Neo’s 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine isn’t original, either; but it can pump out an astonishing 565 HP.
ECD ups the ante in cabin creature comforts as well. Project Neo has been upgraded inside with front bucket seats, rear jump seats, a Momo steering wheel, and a sheath of black leather throughout.
