About three months after dropping $5 million on a classic midcentury modern home in Beverly Hills, entertainment-industry businessman and impresario David Geffen spent another $30 million on a one-acre lot in the fair city.
That’s the going rate for an empty acre on “Billionaires Row.” The highly sought-after 90210 neighborhood is located on a lush hillside offering views of the city and the Pacific Ocean.
The sale comes with an impressive 24,500-square-foot floorplan for a luxurious manse. If Geffen moves forward with the design, he’ll come home to a seven-bedroom, 15-bath home with plenty of amenities. The blueprint includes entertainment-friendly additions including a theater, a bowling alley, a nightclub, and a bar. Landscape plans call for a beautiful backyard complete with a 140-foot swimming pool.
The property was first listed for $39 million in May 2018, but was priced at $35.995 million prior to the sale.
